The object of this project was to elevate the payroll Company ConnectPay's presence at trade shows and events. Typically vendors are pretty vanilla at these events - I wanted to add a pop of bright color and an interactive experience that would inspire curiosity, surprise and delight.
Voices of real ConnectPay employees and clients were recorded. Each message touched on a point of service or software in a fun and memorable way.
"Listen Here" signage behind the phone invites participants to pick it up.
The technology inside the phone was created by Jeff Matson of Busy Squirrel. Using an off the shelf push button phone, he programmed each button to play a different message when pressed.
he also added a feature that allows the phone to be programmed to ring at specified intervals - between 10 seconds and 3 minutes.
This added further incentive for users to interact with the piece.
The Real People Phone was a hit at it's first event, with many people returning to listen to another message, or comment on their experience.
