I'd like to propose a multimedia installation that creates a calm place to rest, while focusing on appreciation for our local wild pollinators.
It would consist of a lightweight chandelier with built in speakers & music player. Attached to the chandelier are close up pollinator photographs that I have taken. The original music is performed by my husband, Rob Byrd. This could be installed in a pavilion outside, from a tree, or somewhere inside where there is a high ceiling.
I photograph our tiny pollinator friends and wildflowers almost every day. Some pollinators are beautiful, some are dangerous looking. But they are responsible for 90% of wild flowering plant reproduction and 75% of food plant reproduction. Our planet can’t live without them.
You can hear the music along with some of the images HERE
My intention is that guests will leave refreshed and with a deeper appreciation for the systems of life that happen around us every day.
Thank you for your consideration!
