The brief for this project was to design a space mission patch. I chose France's Veronique AHI 47, a mission that launched the first cat into space - and a female cat at that! I wanted my design to have a more feminine feel to appeal to women, and also reflect current graphic trends, while referencing the 1960's, which is when the mission occurred.
I also chose the text "Merci, Felicette," as a thank you to all the animals that unknowingly served as pioneers in this field. While I am not in favor animal testing, we can honor the sacrifices ones that have gone before. Thankfully Felicette did make it back to Earth, safe and sound.
Proceeds of sales support Space Horizons (www.spacehorizons.org), an innovative non profit that promotes interest in STEM education for minority and female students in under served communities.

The shirt design was available for sale as a tank top on Boxlunch.com in collaboration with Creative Action Network. It was the only space design chose for print with Box Lunch.
The initial run sold out!
